FCE Speaking Part 3



ΠΕΡΙΓΡΑΦΗ
Στους υποψηφίους δίνεται μια ερώτηση προς συζήτηση. Η ερώτηση συνοδεύεται από 5 σημειώσεις – επιμέρους υποενότητες του ερωτήματος ώστε να βοηθήσουν τους υποψηφίους να απαντήσουν στο ερώτημα.
Οι υποψήφιοι θα πρέπει να απαντήσουν στο ερώτημα λαμβάνοντας υπόψη τους τις σημειώσεις που πλαισιώνουν το ερώτημα. 
ΠΡΟΣΟΧΗ: δεν καλούνται να καλύψουν όλες τις υποκατηγορίες – επιλέγουν  αυτές που μπορούν να υποστηρίξουν και να εξηγήσουν.
Η συζήτηση μεταξύ των εξεταζόμενων συνεχίζεται περίπου για 5 λεπτά ή μέχρι να τους σταματήσει ο εξεταστής.
Τέλος, ο εξεταστής ζητά από τους υποψήφιους να κάνουν μια σύντομη περίληψη των όσων προανέφεραν και να οδηγηθούν στο τελικό συμπέρασμα.    
Στο στάδιο αυτό αξιολογείται η δεξιότητα του κάθε υποψηφίου να:
  1. Διεξάγει συζήτηση (όχι μονόλογος αλλά διάλογος – ενδιαφέρον για την άποψη του συνομιλητή)
  2. Δίνει τον λόγο στον συνομιλητή του και να ανταποκρίνεται στα λόγια του
  3. Χρησιμοποιεί εκφράσεις και λεξιλόγιο κατάλληλο για συζήτηση/ επιχειρηματολογηση/ σύγκριση – αντίθεση/ διαπραγμάτευση

ΧΡΗΣΙΜΕΣ ΕΚΦΡΑΣΕΙΣ

Stage 1: Starting the task/ Choosing the first one to talk about. 

  • Shall we start with this one? 
  • Which one do you want to start with?
  • How about this one first?
  • Why don’t we start with this one?
  • May I go first / speak first?
  • What do you think about this one, Mary?


 Stage 2: Move onto others and quickly move through them.

 Move onto others

  • Shall we move onto Y now?
  • So what about Y ?
  • Which one should we discuss next?
  • What do you think about this idea?
  • How do you feel about that one?
  • We still need to discuss [topic].
  • Ah, that connects with the next topic which is …. .

Agreeing
  • Basically, I feel the same way, so…
  • That’s exactly what I think, so…
  • We seem to agree on that one, so…
  • Right.
  • Good point.
  • I fully agree.
  • I was just thinking that!
  • I was just going to say that!
  • That's just what I was thinking.
  • I couldn't agree more.
  • You're totally right.
 Disagreeing
  • I don’t feel the same way, but I see what you mean. Anyway,…
  • I don’t think we’ll ever agree on that, so…
  • I still think that…, but anyway…

Stage 3: Listen to the examiner’s further instructions then start the deciding stage.

 Reaching a Decision
  • Well, we can eliminate [topic] right away. Don't you think?
  • So then, what do you think is the best one?
  • I guess you think we should choose [topic]?
  • Okay. If not that one, how do you feel about…?
  • Are we both in favour of [topic]?
  • Okay, so we agree on [topic].

Stage 4: If the examiner asks you to, summarise what you agreed on.

 Summarizing
  • So, we’ve decided on…
  • In that case, I think we’ve agreed on…
  • To recap/ sum up what we agreed,…
  • We have only decided on one, which is…
  • We chose… because…
  • We haven’t agreed yet, but…
